Hello,

We Are Your Friends. We Are Saint Etienne Disco.
First issue of Discosis, a DIY fans' take on the world of Saint Etienne. A reminder of the past (2022) and a nod to the future (2023). If this was 30 years ago, the first issue of Clenbuterol, Saint Etienne's Official Newsletter would have been just released and the hype around So Tough would be rising. So we thought, let's do it all over again. Bring on 2023.

Measured Mile is a new 7" label run by Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley via Ace Records. The plan is to release DJ-friendly 45s that are either very rare or previously unavailable on seven-inch. The first release (Nov 25, 2022) paired a couple of prime library tracks, from Brian Bennett - the slow, menacing groove he called Name Of The Game - and Dave Richmond (aka the Melody Nelson bassist) whose grungy Confunktion will be instantly recognised by anyone who remembers the late 70s Denim aftershave ad. Already lined up for the future are more library gems from Basil Kirchin and Alan Parker, plus a northern/girl group monster from Connie Stevens. Click here for the Measured Mile discography.
2023 - 10 Year Milestone: Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley launched his Croydon Municipal label in 2013 which specialised in unearthing forgotten albums, lost 45s and 78s from the mid 20th century. 21 CDs were released between 2013 and 2016. Click here for the Croydon Municipal discography.

"Veston is not interested in profit margins, bonus tracks, or ugly barcodes that ruin the sleeve. Nope. This is a labour of love, pure and simple. We are here to serve you." VOD 001 was a St. Christopher Flexi. Click here for the Veston discography.
