'Lets Do It' special signed CD edition and book tour

We are excited to bring you news of Bob's new book and a special signed edition with accompanying CD that'll be available to pre-order next week exclusively via our shop.

'Let's Do It' is Bob's long awaited follow up to 'Yeah, Yeah, Yeah' and has been described by Caitlin Moran as "an absolute landmark, a door to Narnia: the history of pop music before rock'n'roll. I can't recommend Let's Do It enough."

It's had rave reviews from, the Times, Daily Telegraph, Record Collector, Uncut and Mojo, who have given it 5 stars and called it "magisterial".

A prequel to 'Yeah Yeah Yeah', 'Let's Do It' is the first book to tell the definitive story of the birth of pop, from the invention of the 78 rpm record at the end of the nineteenth century to the beginnings of rock and the modern pop age. Bringing the eclectic, evolving world of early pop to life - from ragtime, blues and jazz to Broadway, country, crooning and beyond - 'Let's Do It' is essential reading for all music lovers.

From 5pm (BST) on Wednesday 4th May we will be offering signed copies of 'Let's Do It' with a specially compiled 26 track CD (unique to the Saint Etienne merch shop) entitled 'Let's Do It: Deep Magic From the Dawn of Pop' gathering together Bob's favourite recordings from the era - a perfect soundtrack to the book. The CD and signed book set is limited to just 500 copies so please visit to shop at www.saintetienne.com/merch (or see link in bio) next Wednesday from 5pm BST to avoid disappointment.

Next Wednesday also sees Bob set off on a book tour with a series of talks around the UK.

Live shows in June

We're pleased to announce a short run of 4 live dates this June. These take in a few parts of the UK that we weren't able to visit back in November and tickets go on sale tomorrow - Friday 8th April - at 10am (via the link in our bio or at https://bit.ly/3LLTzMl).

We kick off this short tour with our first show in Manchester for 5 years -yes, 5 whole years! - at The Ritz which we've always loved playing.

Then we're off to Edinburgh for a headline slot at the Hidden Door festival at the Old Royal High School.

Friday the 10th June sees us honour our postponed Sunderland date with a set at the city's brand new Fire Station venue.

And last but not least we're excited to play a new festival of "ideas and music" called Kite which takes place at Kirtlington Park, Oxfordshire (12 miles north of Oxford). We'll be playing the main stage on Saturday 11th June neatly sandwiched between Mavis Staples, Self Esteem and Grace Jones so it promises to be a lot of fun.

We'll be performing songs from 'I've Been Trying To Tell You' alongside a selection of hits and fan favourites and are really looking forward to hitting the road and seeing everyone again.

Lots of love Bob, Pete and Sarah xxx
